Innsbruck offers its guests many different accommodation options. The Stage 12 Hotel by Penz is definitely one of the most beautiful hotels. It is centrally located, easily accessible, stylish and modern – a feel-good place for us during our time in Innsbruck.
From the pedestrian zone of Maria-Theresien-Straße in Innsbruck, you can reach the Stage 12 Hotel by Penz through a small passageway. The hotel entrance is located in a small, quiet courtyard.
As soon as I entered the hotel, I sensed a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Check in was quick and we then took our luggage to the luggage room in the basement so that we could explore the city. I was very surprised that we could put our luggage in lockers there. A great idea that gave us an extra sense of security.
Our tip: If you stay 2 nights or more, you will receive the Innsbruck Welcome Card free of charge at the hotel. With this card, you can use public transport free of charge, take part in special hikes free of charge and receive other discounts. If you stay longer than three days, you can also use the mountain railroads once free of charge. You can also order the card online in advance and it will be sent to you by email on the day of your arrival.
After our first explorations of the city, we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon and checked into a room on the second floor.
Room selection
The Stage 12 Hotel by Penz offers its guests various room options and categories. They all have one thing in common: they are stylish, cozy and give you the feeling of being “at home”.
A total of 120 rooms are available: Single rooms, double or twin rooms, triple rooms and family rooms. Some rooms are located so that you have a view of the Maria-Theresien-Straße pedestrian zone with its historic, listed facades.
We stayed in a double room facing the courtyard. My personal highlight in this room: the bed is positioned so that you can look out of the large panoramic window and have a great view of the mountains. I could even see the Nordkettenbahn with its mountain stations!
The box-spring bed and especially the pillows made for wonderful nights.
Breakfast at the Stage 12 Hotel by Penz
Breakfast and especially the first morning coffee is one of the most important meals for us on our travels. As we are often on the road all day, it gives us the energy for the day.
The Stage 12 Hotel by Penz really impressed me with its breakfast menu and I would have loved to stay there until lunch if the city hadn’t beckoned.
I have rarely experienced such an extensive range of fresh fruit in a hotel as at the Stage 12 Hotel by Penz. During our visit, the offer was not limited to melon, apples and grapes – there were strawberries, dragon fruit, mango …. Fruit that I very rarely eat and really enjoyed.
But the other products on offer were also incredibly varied. Various types of yogurt, quark, lactose-free products and “children’s yogurt” were available in the fridge. Bread rolls, bread, muesli and sweet treats were complemented by savory options such as egg and bacon. I had the feeling that nothing was missing and could hardly make up my mind.
An additional plus point from me – the staff. Attentive and constantly striving to present the offer in a visually appealing way, they were very friendly and cheerful even in the early morning. A great start to the day!
Relaxation is a top priority
After a day full of impressive experiences, you can relax wonderfully at the Stage 12 Hotel by Penz. There is a spa on the top floor of the hotel. Two saunas, a steam bath and a small relaxation room are available to guests here every day from 4pm to 9pm.
I really liked the fitness room. Every day from 7am to 9pm you can work out on various machines and even look out of the window. Even though I unfortunately didn’t get to see the mountains, it’s nice to be able to train in natural light and not be in a basement room with artificial light.
Those who prefer to relax with a good drink should not miss a visit to the hotel bar. There are excellent cocktails here!
