Berlin is not only the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, but also an independent federal state. Around 3.4 million people live here in the area of the Spree and Havel rivers. Many visitors are enthusiastic about a city trip to Berlin every year.
We are lucky enough to live in Berlin. Our view of the city is therefore very different from that of visitors to Berlin. Of course we also visit the city’s hotspots, but we also look off the beaten track for places that might otherwise be overlooked.

In the fall, a hike took us from Lübars in Berlin across the state border into Brandenburg's Mühlenbecker Land region and back to Lübars. The route was almost 16 kilometers long, but can certainly be shortened or extended.
