Staying in style in Munich – the Maritim Hotel Munich is just the right choice. Conveniently located, not far from the city center and its sights, the hotel was the ideal starting point for a city tour.
Welcome to the hotel
It is only a few meters from Munich Central Station to the Maritim Hotel Munich. The route is easy to cover on foot and you will definitely arrive at the hotel faster than by cab.
Don’t be put off by the hustle and bustle on the street, the hotel is wonderfully quiet in a backyard. Just a few steps through the driveway and the vacation feeling begins.
We entered the stylish lobby of the Maritim Hotel Munich through the revolving door and I immediately felt at home. The welcome was friendly, cheerful and there was already a feeling of “coming home”, even though we had never been there before.
Which room should it be?
The Maritim Hotel Munich offers its guests a variety of room types.
The Classic rooms offer a cozy atmosphere and are equipped with all the necessary amenities to make your stay a pleasant one, including free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.
For those who want a little more space and comfort, the Comfort rooms are an excellent choice. These rooms are furnished in a modern style and guests will find additional amenities such as a coffee machine.
Guests stay in even more luxury in the superior rooms, which are characterized by their elegant furnishings and location on the upper floors of the hotel. We stayed in this room category during our stay. The room was pleasantly large (23 m²) and the box-spring bed was simply fantastic. I slept very well, also thanks to the air conditioning, which was pleasantly quiet. The free WiFi worked perfectly in our room. I particularly liked the bathrobes we could borrow, which we used on the way to the hotel pool.
For a particularly luxurious experience, the stylishly furnished suites offer generous space. This room category is perfect for guests who want extra comfort and privacy. It has a separate living area, which is ideal for relaxing or working.
All about food
Breakfast is served in the Rôtisserie restaurant in the basement of the Maritim Hotel Munich. The large room is stylishly furnished and we received a friendly and cheerful welcome at the entrance. A great way to start the day!
The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. For me, the selection of fresh fruit and muesli variations is always important. It was a very good selection! But bread, rolls, different types of cheese and cold cuts, sweet spreads…. are also on offer. How about a glass of sparkling wine for breakfast? No problem, it’s chilled and ready to go.
Our tip: take your time and enjoy the wonderful breakfast in peace and quiet! It’s worth it!!!!
In the evening, you can reserve a table in the hotel restaurant “Wintergarten”. International and regional dishes are on offer here. Or how about a drink in the “Pianobar”? There really is a piano here, but I don’t know if it is played. In any case, you can round off the day with a drink in the hotel bar.
Relaxation
What could be more relaxing than a break after a city tour? The Maritim Hotel Munich offers its guests the perfect place for this. On the top floor of the hotel, there is a small pool and a sauna area for a fee.
We enjoyed a dip in the refreshing water during our stay in the city. What a wonderful way to cool off! In the evening, the pool area is beautifully lit and you can look out over the city at night through the windows. I could even see the illuminated towers of the Frauenkirche from one of the windows.
The sauna area is located right next to the pool in an enclosed area with rest and relaxation facilities. There is even a small roof terrace with sun loungers.
We spent a while looking for the gym. The signs in the elevator only indicated that this room existed, but not exactly on which floor. The only certainty was “somewhere” downstairs. After we had opened what felt like every unlocked door in the basement and were still searching, I finally asked at reception. The fitness room is on the second basement floor!!!
The small room is equipped with three different endurance machines and one strength machine.
For me, having worked in a gym for years, it’s a rather “sad” and uninspiring space and as an athlete I would be reluctant to train here. The available equipment is modern and good, but a gym mat for stretching exercises or back muscle training, for example, would be nice. I didn’t find any. I would also like to see something more than a white wall when I train on a treadmill. Maybe you could hang up pictures. But unlike many other hotels, there is at least a fitness room that offers the opportunity to exercise on good equipment, especially for business people with little time, for example.
Function rooms
The Maritim Hotel Munich is the ideal venue for events. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the main train station, making it very easy for participants to reach. A total of 10 function rooms in a wide range of sizes and facilities are available.
There was a conference suite right next to our room. When it was being prepared for an event the next day, I was able to take a look inside. The room was slightly larger than our room and up to 10 participants can sit together at a large table.
I was able to take a look at another room in the basement of the hotel. There is a large hall here, which is ideal not only for conferences but also for celebrations.
Would we come back again?
We definitely would!
We were impressed by the Maritim Hotel Munich. The service and hospitality were excellent. The location was simply great. The room facilities, the breakfast and the pool and sauna area form the perfect package for a relaxing stay.
