We picked the Novina Hotel Wöhrdersee Nürnberg City for our weekend trip to Nuremberg. A good choice!
The hotel Wöhrdersee is in a very central location which is only a few metro stops away from the airport. We even skipped the bus ride and walked 15 minutes through Wöhrder Park instead. A really nice park which becomes a popular meeting spot for Nuremberg locals when the sun is out. The walk through the park is also the ideal way to get to the city centre in the morning. There is also the bus line 36 that departs at the hotel and calls at the documentation centre of the Nazi party rally grounds and at Hauptmarkt (Central Market Square).
The Novina Hotel Wöhrdersee Nürnberg City is at a junction of two main roads. My worries that I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of traffic were unfounded. We didn’t hear anything in our room and had a quiet night.
We arrived at the hotel in the morning and were lucky. Our room was ready for check in and we were able to drop our luggage off at the third floor right away. All rooms in the hotel were redecorated in 2016 and we found a very modern and clean room. The double bed checked all the boxes of sleep comfort.
I was a little surprised about the layout of the bathroom. Technically, it wasn’t even a room. The toilet was separate behind a smoked glass door. The stylish sink and shower were within the main room. The amazing rain shower was in a glass cubicle. The person lying in bed has a premium view of the person in the shower. Nice for couples but a little unusual maybe. I personally wouldn’t be too keen to share this room with a business partner or acquaintance.
A big plus was the save in the room which was big enough for the laptop and the camera. There is free Wi-Fi in the entire hotel. The breakfast buffet was rich and varied. Different types of musli, bread and bread rolls, cold meats, cheese, sweet bread spreads, fruit, veggies. Everything one could want in the morning was available. We weren’t wanting for anything. The staff was nice, too. We felt very welcome.
