IKONO Berlin is located in the heart of Berlin. Here, visitors can get creative and have lots of fun at the same time.
An escalator takes us to the basement of a building and I’m excited to see what awaits me there.
The fun begins
Just behind the cash desk area, you enter an interactive experience where everyone can live out their own creativity. Age does not matter. Whether you are a child or an adult, anyone who is open-minded and likes to try out new things will have a wonderful time.
At IKONO Berlin, you enter 14 very differently designed rooms. Admittedly, sometimes it took me a while for the room to reveal what I could experience there. But there were also rooms that were so inviting that I would have been busy there for hours.
The central room is a combination of a “ball pool with slides” and lighting effects. My favorite room is called Dreamdive and this name fits perfectly. A slide takes you down into a large ball pool that is so well filled that you slowly dive deeper and deeper. A magical glowing sky opened up above me, inviting you to dream. During my visit, I was able to watch some children “swimming” through the pool full of enthusiasm and unable to get enough of the slides.
I was a little less interested in a room with slot machines. There was a game running that I couldn’t figure out. But as I rarely play computer games or anything similar, it’s probably down to my lack of experience.
In a room called Bouncy Fantasy, I walk across a large soft mat. The walls glow in different colors and only at second glance do I notice that the colors and resulting waves change with my movements. The waves of color follow me almost magically and I paint new pictures on the wall with my movements.
I don’t want to give too much away, but there is one room I don’t want to hide. I enter a room full of shiny silver balloons. Some float on the ceiling, other balloons lie on the floor. Mirrors reflect the light and the glitter of the balloons. Just sit down in the middle of the room – it’s an incredible sight.
Is it worth a visit?
If you want to try something new, you should visit IKONO Berlin. Charge your cell phone battery, go into a room and take pictures. That’s allowed and I’m sure you’ll take some unforgettable pictures.
We definitely had a lot of fun!
