Anyone strolling through the foyer of the Estrel Berlin on an ordinary evening might not yet suspect that just a few meters away, the doors to another world are opening: the dazzling glitter world of Las Vegas. The cult show “Stars in Concert” has been attracting music enthusiasts to Europe’s largest hotel and entertainment center for years.

Here you can experience the music of the greatest legends in music history live on stage. Sung live by deceptively real impersonators. And quite honestly, we almost completely forgot that after just a few minutes of the rousing show in the Estrel Showtheater.
During our visit, the line-up on the program exactly hit our musical taste: Robbie Williams, Madonna, Tom Jones, Gloria Gaynor, and the legendary Blues Brothers.

The Artists at Stars in Concert: Our Highlights
After we had taken our seats at the small table (there are always 4 seats per table), ordered a drink, and faced the chairs towards the stage, it already began.

The first chords of the excellent live band rang out, and the spark immediately caught on, not just with us. Everyone bobbed on their chairs and many hummed and sang along. Then the artists appeared. In the first part of the show with 3 songs each, more songs followed after the break. The illusion lives not only from the visual resemblance of the artists, but above all from the vocal precision and the perfect facial expressions. For comparison, sequences from videos, shows, and concerts are sometimes shown in the background. The movements and vocals matched outstandingly.
Robbie Williams – – Pure Charisma
he Robbie impersonator thrilled us immediately. The typical British charm, the slightly arrogant but likeable posture, and the unmistakable timbre during the great ballad “Angels” – every nuance was right here. Even the flirtation with the female audience was exactly as you know it from concerts.

Madonna – Queen of Pop
A touch of scandal and a whole lot of perfection moved in when Madonna (admittedly somewhat older and more feminine than when I last saw her on stage) stepped onto the stage. Accompanied by a first-class dance ensemble, the impersonator delivered a rousing performance. From the unmistakable costumes to the precise dance steps, the homage to the pop icon was absolutely authentic.

Tom Jones – The Tiger Roars
When the first notes of “Sex Bomb” sounded, there was no holding back for us. The artist who presented Tom Jones to us brought not only the powerful, distinctive voice of the Welsh legend but also the legendary hip swing. You could literally feel the audience indulging in nostalgia. For me, one of the most beautiful interpretations, as I particularly enjoy listening to this music.

Gloria Gaynor – Disco Fever
The impersonator of the undisputed queen of the disco era, Gloria Gaynor, transformed the hall into a real Studio 54 nightclub. With an outstanding voice and glittering wardrobe, she was reminiscent of the artist’s younger years. At the latest during the ultimate anthem “I Will Survive”, the whole hall sang along at the top of their lungs – an absolute goosebump moment.

The Blues Brothers – A Brilliant Finale
Black suits, sunglasses, hats, and a suitcase full of soul. The duo that embodied the Blues Brothers finally made the show stage at the Estrel Berlin shake with hits like “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love”. Their dance routines and the unmistakable, dry humor caused enthusiasm and had us all dancing along at the end of the show.

More than just copies: The magic of the live production
An evening at “Stars in Concert” is like a short vacation from everyday life. The artists on stage do not perform a cheap parody, but a highly professional homage to their role models. They are supported by a fantastic live band that plays seamlessly through the various genres from pop to soul to rock, as well as by dancers who perfectly round off the Las Vegas feeling. It is a fascinating journey through time that awakens memories and simply entertains grandiosely.

Anyone who is in Berlin and loves live music should not miss out on this perfect illusion and can look forward to a changing program on stage.
