Vegan street food from the Vood Mobil

Fancy some vegan street food? In Weddinger Nordhafenpark you can eat delicious vegan food at the Vood Mobil.

Nordhafenpark is a green space located at the intersection of the Mitte, Moabit and Wedding districts. When the Schering company built on large open spaces here in the post-war period, it was decided to create a park on the Weddinger side of the Nordhafen. In 1953, the Wedding side of the riverbank was inaugurated, followed later by the side of the riverbank in what was then the district of Tiergarten.

After its completion, the park was a popular recreational area, steamers docked there and there was also an illuminated fountain in the middle of the North Harbour for many years.

With the construction of the North Harbour Bridge in 1970, traffic noise increased and the attractiveness decreased. From 2006, when numerous construction projects were underway in the surrounding areas, the Nordhafenpark began to be upgraded and redesigned.
In 2015, the pharmaceutical company Bayer bought the street Am Nordhafen and redesigned the adjacent green spaces.

Veganes Streetfood at the Vood Mobil

In 2020, Vood Mobil opened right here, on these green spaces, offering its vegan street food.

If you come to the small green area from Fennstraße or Sellerstraße, you will see the flags pointing to the Vood Mobil from afar. The small green trailer – the Vood Mobil – is parked in a company car park, which is directly next to a footpath through the park and accessible to pedestrians.

I was there on the day of the opening and of course immediately tested the offer.
My choice was the excellent broccoli salad. My companion opted for a voody. That’s a bread pocket filled with … no, I won’t tell you – but it’s vegan and really delicious. Drinks and something sweet for dessert are of course also available at the Vood Mobil.

With the food, we sat down on a lawn in the park and enjoyed the meal and the day. I will definitely come back, bring a blanket and have a picnic with the food from the Vood Mobil.
