Lake Möhne (Möhnesee) is a true paradise for cyclists, hikers, and those seeking relaxation. The family-run Hotel Haus Griese is located in Körbecke, making it a perfect starting point for a relaxing vacation in the Sauerland region.
Arrive and take a deep breath: Refined charm instead of cold design
Upon entering the lobby, you can feel the history of this established family business. The entrance area and the reception forego cold minimalism and are instead decorated in darker, warm tones. It exudes a classic charm that makes you slow down right after arrival.

At Hotel Haus Griese, the welcome was exactly as I had hoped. I always feel comfortable in a place right away when the greeting is friendly, warm, and not “rehearsed politeness.” For me, that is the best start to a vacation.
Nostalgic coziness, great Wi-Fi, and a peaceful sleep
This traditional common thread can also be found in the rooms. The furnishings are kept classic. Almost all rooms have their own balcony where you can end the day. My room was sparkling clean and impeccably maintained—a point that is my top priority during any hotel stay.

A particularly lovely detail awaited me in the bathroom: The shower was visually jazzed up with a large-format photo motif of Lake Möhne. A truly charming eye-catcher that immediately makes you want to take your first walk along the shore!
The hotel is centrally located on the main road through Körbecke. I had a room “facing the back” and can only highly recommend it. It was wonderfully quiet there.

Anyone who wants to post vacation pictures or stream in the evening has another reason to rejoice: The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly and fast throughout my entire stay.
Dinner tip: If you don’t want to leave the building after a long day at the lake, you will find excellent and fresh cuisine in the in-house restaurant.
A perfect start: Good coffee and a well-rounded breakfast
After a restful night, I was looking forward to breakfast. The selection at the buffet is varied, attractively presented, and offers everything you need to fuel up for the day ahead. My personal highlight in the morning: The coffee tasted really good.

My conclusion
Hotel Haus Griese offers a wonderful base for anyone who values genuine hospitality and unbeatable proximity to the “Westphalian Sea.”
