Yes, the Moritzburg is also in Zeitz! The Moritzburg Castle in Zeitz in Saxony-Anhalt is often confused with the Moritzburg in Saxony. Yet the castle in Zeitz is unique and really worth seeing. It is definitely worth a visit, especially if you take some time to explore the castle grounds at your leisure.

For us Spandau residents, it is simply part of the cityscape, the Spandau Citadel. For Berlin visitors, the Renaissance fortress is one of the sights in the district of Spandau that should not be missed.

It’s not always the big sights that leave a lasting impression. Sometimes it is rather a small story that stays in your mind, for example Hannover stories about a theft or cherries.
The bunker city of Wünsdorf is located about 40 km south of Berlin. In addition to its reputation as a bunker town, Wünsdorf is also a book town. Thousands of book treasures from the present and the past invite you to browse and buy. Adventurous hikes through the huge bunker complexes give visitors a first-hand experience of Germany’s military history.
From Wittenberge in the Prignitz region, a fantastically beautiful cycle path leads along the Elbe, where you can follow in the footsteps of German-German history and also discover a unique natural landscape.

During our tour of the city, we already briefly passed the cathedral of St.Johannes and St.Laurentius. Now, a little later, we are standing in front of the cathedral in Merseburg, which forms the fourth wing of Merseburg Castle, and are looking forward to a tour. At the ticket office we receive an overview map and photo permission and set off on our own on a journey of discovery.

In the district of Charlottenburg stands one of the most beautiful palaces in Berlin. We took a little walk around the palace and enjoyed the beautiful weather in the palace park.
A weekend in Hannover took us to several restaurants, cafés and pubs. We sampled very different offerings and found that eating out in Hannover is a treat.
We were on the road for three days in the Saale-Unstrut region. Our place to stay during this time was in Merseburg at the Hotel Best Western Halle-Merseburg. A good choice!
During a walk some time ago I discovered a sign on a lamppost that indicated I was walking along the “Path of Memory”. Although I had already walked this path dozens of times, I had never seen this sign before and could not really imagine what or whom the memory should apply here.

The train stops in Hamelin, we have 2 hours until the onward journey – off we go, sightseeing on the fly, let’s see if it’s worth stopping by for a longer stop sometime.
In the Altmark, about two kilometres from Aulosen, is the Stresow Memorial and Meeting Place, which commemorates the village of Stresow and its history. The borderland tour along the Elbe leads visitors here for a good reason.

A great idea to explore Hannover on your own is the Red Thread of Hannover. If you take a stroll through the old town and not only look at the buildings, but also give the street a glance, you will quickly come across a red line.
If you drive out of town for about 5 minutes, you will find the Weißenfels all-weather toboggan run on the B87. We were curious to see what was in store for us. In addition to tobogganing in summer, various leisure activities are offered for every age group. We had a look around the grounds and of course tried out some of the highlights with a lot of fun.

Steeply uphill, the Schlossgasse takes us to Neu-Augustusburg Castle in Weißenfels. Once we reach the top, we first stand on the castle forecourt. Here stands a Prussian latrine building. There are said to be only three buildings of this kind left in Germany, unfortunately it is locked. It would certainly be interesting to take a look inside.

There is the Eulenspiegel pharmacy, the Eulenspiegel monument, pictures of Eulenspiegel on house walls – yes and in Bernburg stands the largest Eulenspiegel monument.
The Biosphere is located in the middle of Potsdam. Here you can experience a vacation atmosphere in the rainforest all year round.
If you enter Sanssouci’s Schosspark from the Green Gate, the main entrance, you can’t miss the Friedenskirche (Peace Church) in the Marly Garden. It is worth planning a visit, the church is exceptional.

It’s not that long ago that even my parents still drove this route to school and university every day and countless Siemens workers used this route every day to get to work. In beautiful weather, we set off from Bad Schandau to tackle our planned hike to the Bastei. First we take the train to Rathen.
What a lot there is to find in Berlin’s underground. Not only cellars, kilometre-long pipelines or sewers can be found here – here you can also find buried underground tunnels or underground tunnels that were built and never used. Come with us into the Eisack tunnel and deep under Innsbrucker Platz.

Bad Schandau in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is easily accessible by train. It is easy to discover many different hiking routes from here. We did two half-day tours, which were very varied and left lots of wonderful and atmospheric impressions.
