The Biendo Hotel in Chemnitz boasts an unbeatable location in the absolute heart of the city. It is situated so centrally by the “Roter Turm” (Red Tower) that you almost stumble over the most important sights. From here, it is possible to discover the entire city center on foot.
Perfect Location, Surprising Entrance: My First Impression of the Biendo Hotel
Admittedly, I was a bit confused upon arrival. The address was correct, and I saw the hotel advertisement on the wall of the building, but what was missing was a typical hotel entrance. Only at second glance did I realize that the “normal” building entrance in the shopping row was also the hotel entrance.
The hotel reception is located right in this entrance area, which feels more like the lobby of an office building. Check-in was handled quickly, and I then learned that the hotel is located exclusively on the 5th and 6th floors of the building. So, into the elevator! When the doors opened on the 5th floor, I had visually arrived in the stylish ambiance of the hotel.

Explore Chemnitz for Free: The Unbeatable Advantage of the Public Transport Ticket
What I found particularly brilliant about the Biendo Hotel was the public transport “KombiTicket” included in the stay. Right outside the front door are the “Roter Turm” and “Zentralhaltestelle” stops—the main hub for buses and trains.
Upon arrival, every guest receives a hotel ID card that serves as a valid ticket for the entire duration of their stay for all bus and tram lines, as well as local trains within tariff zone 13 (Chemnitz). This cooperation with the CVAG and VMS is a huge convenience for exploring the city.
From Business Trips to Large Families: Finding the Right Room
I spent two nights in a clean, spacious room that left nothing to be desired. The room had an excellent view of the Red Tower. Since the entire city was illuminated at the time, I could not only watch the hustle and bustle on the street from my window but also admire the beautifully lit buildings.
The 3-star superior hotel offers the right category for every need. Solo travelers will find an ideal retreat in the single room with a 1.60-meter-wide bed and a desk. For couples or friends, the classic double room offers a 1.80-meter-wide bed, which can also be flexibly arranged as two single beds..
Those looking for more space will be well-served in the Junior Suites, which add extra comfort with a cozy seating area and a couch. For guests who value independence or are planning a longer stay, the apartment is the perfect solution. With a fully equipped kitchenette, it feels almost like living at home.
The offering for special requirements is outstanding: the hotel offers large family rooms with two double beds and space for up to six people. There are also specially designed accessible rooms. These are particularly spacious, featuring a raised bed (approx. 50 cm) and a fully wheelchair-accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower. As a special service, guests with a valid severely disabled person’s pass have access to a free parking space in the inner courtyard.
All rooms are modernly equipped (flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, Suitepad) and feature bathrooms with underfloor heating. As a welcome greeting, there is a bottle of water and the aforementioned public transport ticket.
An important note for the summer: The rooms at the Biendo Hotel do not have air conditioning, which should be kept in mind during very hot temperatures.

The Panorama Breakfast: My Start to the Day Above the Rooftops
The absolute highlight of my stay at the Biendo Hotel was the breakfast! It is served in the bright breakfast room on the 6th floor. If you snag a window seat, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the rooftops of Chemnitz all the way to the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge).
The rich buffet left nothing to be desired. It was diverse, fresh, and varied. I was particularly impressed by the selection of over ten different coffee specialties from the automated machine. It was almost a shame that I couldn’t sit there all morning.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the lunch packet I took with me on the day of departure. The packed bag actually lasted until the next day—great service!

Cozy Evening: The Hotel Bar
The hotel bar is located on the 5th floor of the building. It is open at specific times (please check the posted notices) and offers a good selection of beverages. It’s a truly cozy place to end the day.
Nearby Dining Recommendations
The Biendo Hotel itself does not operate an evening restaurant. Thanks to its central location, however, this is not an issue. Numerous options are located directly in the building or in the immediate vicinity:
- Turm-Brauhaus: Right next door for traditional German cuisine.
- Hans im Glück: Opposite for burger lovers.
- Namaste India: For authentic Indian dishes.
- …as well as many other cafés and restaurants in the Galerie Roter Turm.
