In the east of Saxony-Anhalt lies the district of Wittenberg. A region that offers a varied holiday, both historically and scenically.
A holiday in the Wittenberg district leads many visitors to Wittenberg, the Luther city. The small old town with its history is the region’s centre of attraction.
The district also has much to offer nature lovers. The Elbe flows through the region. Beautiful floodplain landscapes characterise large parts of the natural area. In the north of the district lies the Fläming and shapes the landscape with its slightly hilly profile. Quite the opposite awaits holidaymakers in the south of the district. The Dübener Heide, one of the largest contiguous forest areas in central Germany, stretches out here.
Holiday in the Wittenberg district – great excursion tips
We have been passing the station Lutherstadt Wittenberg on our commute for ages. So one day, we just got off there. And that was a good idea!
Ferropolis – who or what and first and foremost where is Ferropolis? These were my first thoughts when we got asked to come along to watch the Fisherman’s Friend Strongman Nightrun. But if you aren’t curious you’re not going to learn anything new and so we pushed all doubts aside and went on the trip.
