The Bohem Art Hotel is in the heart of Budapest. We chose this hotel for our first stay in Budapest and it turned out to be exactly the right choice.
The Bohem Art Hotel Budapest is on Molnár Street 35 in district 5. Most parts of the building date back to the 17th century.
History was made here in industrial times as the building was a stationary factory. The owner, Béla Szénásy, was a stationery wholesaler, the founder of the Hungarian paper industry and the creator of the international industrial trade fair. The factory is also known for making protective passports in 1944 that were issued by the Swedish delegation to protect the threatened Jews during World War II.
The hotel is easy to get to from the airport. There is a metro station (M4) in close proximity to the hotel. For stays longer than three nights that are booked online a free airport shuttle is included. We made use of this service for the way back from the hotel to the airport because otherwise, we would have needed to leave the hotel way too early. This service was a nice perk that we enjoyed a lot.
The street the hotel is on runs parallel to a shopping street and the Danube. It was ideal for a stroll along the river and when we followed the shopping street we reached the inner city in no time. Everything was in comfortable walking distance.
Our stay at Bohem Art Hotel Budapest
Our room on the 4th floor faced a little backyard. It was lovely and quiet! We slept really well in the great bed in our room. The design of the rooms is rather modern. We liked that the room had a safe with enough room for two laptops and a camera. Wi-Fi was strong in our room and free to use in the entire building.
The modern design doesn’t end with the rooms. The whole hotel is stylish and features works of young Hungarian artists. Thought through lighting around the bar make this area particularly welcoming in the evening hours. We liked to sit there, have a beer or cocktail and let the day fade out. The breakfast buffet was served in a modern looking room. They had everything my heart desired. They had muesli, savoury foods and everything in between. I tried something new every morning. Juices, coffee, tea, water and sparkling wine were also available. This was everything we needed for a good start. If a break becomes necessary in the middle of a sightseeing day, guests can come back to the lobby of the Bohem Art Hotel Budapest and enjoy coffee and tea for free between 14.00 and 17.00 to refuel.
We felt very comfortable in this hotel. Contact with staff members via email previous to our arrival was already very pleasant and also the personnel on sight was lovely and helpful.
