Panzerotti from Luini in Milan

“Go eat panzerotti in Milan!” Following a tip from a Milanese woman, we went in search of Luini’s panzerotti near Piazza Duomo. We had no idea what it was, only that you could eat it.

Panzerotti are made from a special dough that is still a family secret and they are always freshly prepared. The dumplings taste best when they are still warm.
The best sellers are the fried panzerotti, which are classically filled with tomato and mozzarella, but are now also offered in other flavours. But there are also oven-baked panzarotti and sweet panzerotti.

After we found the shop – which is actually not difficult, because there is a long queue in front of it – we got in line and waited. But it was worth it.

The display was just great and we spontaneously decided to try a savoury panzerotti and a sweet version. The savoury panzarotti in Milan was filled with tomatoes and salami and was still warm when it was handed over the counter. The sweet panzerotti was filled with chocolate and cherries, but not warm.

The savoury panzerotti in Milan was really very well seasoned. It tasted good, but I liked the sweet panzerotti much better. The chocolate went really well with the cherries. The pastry was just delicious and unfortunately ran out far too quickly.

Price-wise, the panzerotti in Milan are okay, we had expected higher costs due to the uniqueness.

An ideal snack!
