Worth a sin – ice cream in Italy

Italy is known as the land of ice cream. Everyone raves about ice cream in Italy, but is it really as good as its reputation or can other ice cream parlours keep up?

Ice cream is a matter of taste. I hardly know anyone who doesn’t like ice cream and everyone has their own preferences. Some like the fruity flavours, while others prefer milk ice cream. There are the ice cream lovers and the waffle lovers, as well as the connoisseurs and the frequent eaters. It’s just what everyone likes.

I love ice cream!

Without question. If I had to choose between cake and ice cream, ice cream would always win. For me, it depends very much on my mood whether I prefer ice cream from the freezer, the ice cream parlour or sometimes homemade ice cream at home. So there was no question that there would be a lot of ice cream in Italy.
In every town we tried different ice cream parlours. And…it was really delicious!

Eis in Italien

From frozen yogurt with chocolate dressing to fig, there were so many varieties that I didn’t have a favourite ice cream in Italy, only experiences.

What impressed me was the creaminess of the ice cream. We also never had scoops formed, it was always one layer on top of the next. We never had a bad experience in any ice cream parlour. The ice cream, whether it was bought from a shop, a mobile stand or at the EXPO in Milan at a mass checkout, was always delicious.
