What an unusual location for a hotel! The Eurostars Zaragoza is located in the middle of Zaragoza’s main train station and some of the rooms offer incredible views, and not just for train-spotters.
When looking for a hotel in Zaragoza, we were spoiled for choice – would we rather stay in the city center or in an unusual location? Our choice fell on the unusual.
Location of the Hotel Eurostars Zaragoza
We arrived in Zaragoza by train from Madrid and I spotted the hotel on the platform. It is possible to enter the lobby directly from the station concourse. Of course, there is also an entrance from the street, which can be used by bus and car travelers.
The hotel stretches almost the entire length of the station and over four floors. The length of the hotel was particularly noticeable in the seemingly endless long hotel corridors that you have to walk from the elevator to some of the 256 rooms.
Our choice of room
The room category was initially of relatively little interest to us. We had discovered from the pictures of the hotel that there are rooms with a view of the train station and rooms with a view of the street and the city. The street is a main thoroughfare that is busy day and night. To be honest, the view is not really worth it and I can’t imagine if you can sleep there very peacefully.
We really wanted a room with a view of the train station and luckily they were able to fulfill our wish. We knew that the night wouldn’t be totally quiet in this room either. However, I knew that the train would not be running all night and that the station would be wonderfully quiet for a few hours. You should not rely on the soundproofing mentioned in the hotel description. It certainly works, but you can still hear trains, loudspeaker announcements and the odd rumbling suitcase.
Our room was on the 2nd floor of the hotel. We had booked a junior suite. However, it is also possible to book double/twin rooms, triple rooms, suites or family rooms. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, a desk and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Our room was 30 m² in size. I found it surprisingly spacious for a hotel room. In addition to the super comfortable bed, there was also an extra bed in the room.
The room was quite dark, which is completely understandable when you consider that you have a window facing the train station, so no direct daylight. This meant that the window could not be opened. However, there was a well-functioning air conditioning unit in the room.
My personal highlight was the view of the train station. I could have stood at the window forever and watched the trains arriving and departing. From trains from different providers to the different types of trains, the people on the platform… it was almost a bit like being at the movies.
The breakfast buffet
The breakfast room is located on the second floor of the Eurostars Zaragoza. Here you can see that many groups use the hotel. The room is huge and there are many long tables, often with the names of the tour operators on them. For me, the room was actually in keeping with the train station theme – loud, impersonal, uncomfortable. Our breakfast time was definitely shorter than usual due to the external circumstances.
The food itself was very good. There was a good selection of hot dishes, great ham, fresh fruit and yogurt. Really great for our breakfast needs.
What else does the hotel offer?
The Eurostars Zaragoza has two function rooms with a capacity of up to 50 people. It is possible to book an additional restaurant service.
There is free WiFi throughout the hotel, which worked well in our room and was reasonably fast.
There is a bar in the lobby which is open a few hours a day.

As the crow flies, the city center is about 2.8 kilometers from the hotel. However, buses stop right outside the door, which also go to the city center.
