Playa Blanca is on the south coast of Lanzarote. In this aridest region of the island it’s sunny almost every day of the year and so the little fishing village Playa Blanca developed into a hot spot for tourism.

Dotted around the place are white apartment complexes which are thankfully not very tall. This helps with keeping up the feeling of a village rather than an intensely developed area.

Outside of the town are the most beautiful beaches of Lanzarote. The entire region is under conservation. A well-maintained promenade runs along the coastline from the Faro de Pechiguera Lighthouse all the way to the beaches of Papagayo. There are only minor gaps in the promenade along the way.
