{"id":12969,"date":"2018-11-03T05:18:52","date_gmt":"2018-11-03T03:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/?p=12969"},"modified":"2020-11-05T17:39:57","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T15:39:57","slug":"mirador-del-rio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/spain\/lanzarote\/mirador-del-rio\/","title":{"rendered":"Mirador del Rio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After we only paid Mirador del Rio a short visit during our last stay, we came back and this time also visited the old fortress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/10\/Panorama-Mirador-del-Rio.jpg\" alt=\"Mirador del Rio\" title=\"panorama-mirador-del-rio.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Isn\u2019t that a sight for sore eyes? The fortress Bater\u00eda des Rio is in the North of the island. On an impressively steep cliff, 479 metres high, the building was erected and is used today as a viewpoint.<br>The building is barely visible from the outside because it is so cleverly nestled behind the rock formations.<br>The fortress was converted in 1974 by Manrique. Today, it is home to a bar, a souvenir shop and a viewing platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/10\/aussichtsplattform.jpg\" alt=\"Mirador del Rio\" title=\"aussichtsplattform.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a corridor, one reaches two vaults with enormous panorama windows.
