But there is still a ton to do in Paris without you having to whip out the wallet all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>We noted done some of our pro tips of things to do for free in Paris. We\u2019d love for you to add to those tips in the comments below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A walk along the Seine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Paris is located on the banks of the river Seine. A walk along the river doesn\u2019t cost any money and is great to see a lot of the city.<br>Join us for our <a href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/france\/paris\/booksellers-along-the-seine\/\">walk along the Seine<\/a> and discover the bookshops along the river. Keen walkers can even leg it all the way to the Eiffel Tower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/seine13.jpg\" alt=\"Seine in Paris\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Find our <a href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/france\/paris\/seine-in-paris\/\">walk along the Seine<\/a> here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standing underneath the Eiffel Tower<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To go up the Eiffel Tower costs some money. But who\u2019s to say that standing underneath the Eiffel Tower and taking in the magnificent view up to the top from the bottom isn\u2019t equally worthwhile?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/unterm-eiffelturm.jpg\" alt=\"Eiffel Tower\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We passed on a trip up the Eiffel Tower. But we were able to stand underneath it. Enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cemetery Pere Lachaise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Granted, visiting a cemetery is a bit unusual. But the Pere Lachaise Cemetery is just as unusual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/friedhof1.jpg\" alt=\"P\u00e8re Lachaise Cemetary in Paris\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A visit to the cemetery is like a journey through the French funeral culture. From old mausoleums to the modern grave design you can discover everything here. After a visit to the Louvre absolutely the right place to get some fresh air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, the entrance to the park is besieged by street sellers who want to sell their goods to anyone passing. But once you make it to one of the fountains or water features, you will have your peace and quiet. I particularly liked the green metal chairs that can be used for free. We had a super laid back breakfast at one of the fountains and enjoyed the sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/tullerien.jpg\" alt=\"Paris for free\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canal Saint-Martin and the Bassin de la Villette<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tranquillity is what you will find at the Canal Saint-Martin and the Bassin de la Villette.<br>We went for a walk here and enjoyed the little cool breeze at the Bassin. Many locals can be seen here after work winding down from their days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/kanal3.jpg\" alt=\"Canal Saint-Martin and Bassin de la Villette\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We wrote a specific article about this free adventure in Paris. <a href=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/frankreich\/paris\/canal-saint-martin-bassin-de-la-villette\">Click this link<\/a> to be taken to all we know about this feature of \u201cParis for free\u201d.\n\tWerbung\n<ins data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1131048604995860\" data-ad-slot=\"9864474982\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Place des Vosges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Right in the middle of the Parisian district Marais is the Place des Vosges. This square has a turbulent history to look back on. Jousting events used to take place here. Today, the park itself and the surrounding buildings with their little shops are an inviting place.<br>You can read all about our trip to <a href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/france\/paris\/paris-marais\/\">Marais here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/place-des-vosges1.jpg\" alt=\"Place des Vosges\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rooftop Terrace at Galeries Lafayette<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A very special viewing point we found in the Galeries Lafayette. On the 7th floor of the high-end department store is a rooftop terrace, free of charge. Escalators lead up to the roof. You can sit down for a drink in a little caf\u00e9 if you fancy, or just visit the rooftop terrace. Up here, a lovely view over the city awaits. We saw the Eiffel Tower, the Palais Garnier and the Centre Pompidou. And if you lean out to peak past a part of the roof you can even spot <a href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/france\/paris\/sacre-coeur\/\">Sacre Coeur<\/a>.<br>In our opinion, this free rooftop is absolutely on par with the expensive, official viewing points and a visit is certainly worthwhile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/05\/blick-zur-sacre-coeur.jpg\" alt=\"Rooftop Terrace at Galeries Lafayette - Paris for free\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What tips and hidden gems do you have when it comes to Paris for free?
