I have ordered with a “GG Ale Summer Pale Ale”. The beer has been brewed with Pilsner malt and Australian hops. It has an alcohol content of 3.5%. Taste-wise, I found it to be quite strong but not too tart.

Patrick ordered a Psenicny Special wheat beer. Plzner malt was used here as well. In addition, the brewer used wheat malt and Saaz hops. The alcohol content is 4.5%. The beer smelled banana-y and tasted wonderfully light.

Šenk und Restaurace Lékárna

The restaurant and beer hall is located on Republic Square and has a direct view of St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral. There are a few tables located on the terrace and you have to be lucky if you want a seat.

Here we have Pilsner Urquell from the tank. The beer is freshly filled into the tanks, pressurized and cooled. This makes it possible to store it a little longer. Once a tank is tapped, the beer must be drunk within 5 days.

U Salzmannů

The oldest pub in Plzen is called U Salzmannů and has existed since 1637. We stopped here to redeem our beer voucher from the guided tour of Plzen’s historic cellars.

There is a possibility to sit outside, a look at the map reveals that it attracts many tourists here. The prices were a bit higher than in the restaurants we had visited before….

We drank our Pilsner Urquell here.

Terasa

In a video we had learned about a bar that we would like to visit. It was easier said than done. We had quickly determined the address and from the outside we could also see our destination above the city wall. Only we could not discover an entrance. I think we walked around the block three times looking for a clue at the doors. Only then did we discover that we had to go through a bar (I think it even had a completely different name) to reach our destination.

You can really enjoy yourself in this bar. You sit on the city wall and look out over the green strip that runs almost completely around the city center. The large picture on the wall of the house is impressive. If you look closely and search a bit, you will discover a lot that belongs to the history of the city.

We ordered a Světlý Ležák (Czech Pilsner) from Zlatá Kráva here. The beer has an alcohol content of 4.5%. It is a classic Czech beer with a balanced hop flavor and golden yellow color.

Švejk Restaurant U Petatřicátníků

A chain of restaurants offering typical Czech cuisine with the logo of the soldier Schwejk offers not only good food, but also good beer. Here you can toast with a Pilsner Urquell.

Univerzitní kavárna Družba

We were advised to try a beer from the brewery in Chříč. When we passed a student pub, we discovered beer from the brewery there. Even though we raised the age average mightily, we were served in a friendly manner.

We have chosen two different beers: PCh! Pazdrát 11° toceny and PCh! Special toceny.

The beer is a classic Czech lager. It is brewed from Czech hops and malt. I found it to be quite bitter.

The brewery in Chříč is still a fairly young brewery. In 2009, a group of enthusiasts discovered a building of a baroque country brewery with a malt house, which at that time was about to be demolished. With the help of sponsors, the brewery was brought back to life.

If you come to the beer city of Plzen, you want to drink beer.
