In the centre of the old town stands the Torre dei Lamberti – the Tower of Lamberti. At 84 metres, it is the tallest building in Verona and towers over the entire old town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
In 1172, the construction of the tower began and a tower made of tuff and terracotta was built in the Romanesque style. There are two bells in the bell tower. After a fire in 1403, the top of the tower collapsed. When it was rebuilt, the tower was raised. If you stand in front of the tower, you can see this very well because of the different building material (marble). In 1779, the city installed a tower clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
