At 84 metres, it is the tallest building in Verona and towers over the entire old town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In 1172, the construction of the tower began and a tower made of tuff and terracotta was built in the Romanesque style. There are two bells in the bell tower. After a fire in 1403, the top of the tower collapsed. When it was rebuilt, the tower was raised. If you stand in front of the tower, you can see this very well because of the different building material (marble). In 1779, the city installed a tower clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/lambertini-turm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/lambertini-turm.jpg\" alt=\"Torre dei Lamberti - Lambertiturm\" class=\"wp-image-4822\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are good on foot, you can climb 368 steps to the top of the tower or take the lift up. The view is said to be beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We did not drive or walk up the tower, preferring to visit other free viewpoints in the city. We preferred to enjoy a cup of fresh fruit prepared right before our eyes at the small market below the tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hof-hinter-dem-turm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/hof-hinter-dem-turm.jpg\" alt=\"Hof hinter dem Turm\" class=\"wp-image-4821\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you meander between the street caf\u00e9s and restaurants, you will reach a courtyard through an inconspicuous passageway. It lies at the back of the tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/treppe.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/treppe.jpg\" alt=\"Scala - Treppe\" class=\"wp-image-4825\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here you will find a beautiful staircase, the Scala della Ragioni. The marble staircase in the courtyard of Palazzo della Ragione is truly beautiful. The Staircase of Reason, as it is translated, is built in the Gothic style and was originally covered. In the past, it was the way to the court of Verona.
