The company would like to consolidate the topic of sustainability in the hotel industry and is gradually trying to implement a sustainable concept in its hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/nuernberg-hotel-maximilian-zimmer--1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Hotel in N\u00fcrnberg\" class=\"wp-image-32854\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topic Sustainability in the Hotel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideas for the implementation of the sustainability theme were also sought in other hotels. In the process, they came across Green Globe. The concept is based on voluntariness. Good ideas for a greener, ecological way of working in hotels are shared with other members and help is given in implementing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2019, all Living Hotels have been certified and are working to offer increasingly sustainable hotel services. Some of the points implemented are for example<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Offsetting the CO<sub>2<\/sub> balance for business trips and district heating<\/li><li>100% green electricity in the hotels and the hotel headquarters<\/li><li>Toilet paper made of recycled paper<\/li><li>Abolition of disposable cups for coffee<\/li><li>Palm oil-free products at breakfast as far as possible<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the hotel in Nuremberg, there are also free electric car charging points and a &#8220;Zero Hero&#8221; shop for packaging-free shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admittedly, the beginnings are good, but certainly more could be done. During my stay in Nuremberg, for example, there were small packets of butter, some rooms had small shampoo bottles in the bathroom and in my room there was a refrigerator that was barely filled with two bottles of water and two beer cans. The refrigerator in particular is one of the energy guzzlers. For example, removable blocks that store cold could reduce the amount of space that needs to be cooled and thus have an energy-saving effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/nuernberg-hotel-maximilian-kueche-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Living Hotel Maximilian K\u00fcche\" class=\"wp-image-32852\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As I only spent one night in the hotel, I unfortunately don&#8217;t know whether the unnecessary daily changing of towels and the daily cleaning of the room also takes place here. We have now got into the habit of hanging up the &#8220;Do not disturb&#8221; sign to prevent daily cleaning. Especially for 2-3 nights, this is often not necessary, saves working time, energy costs and does not bother us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breakfast at the Living Hotel Maximilian<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel&#8217;s breakfast room is located on the first floor. Right on time for breakfast, the door is unlocked here and you enter a large and bright room. You can step out of the glazed pavilion into the hotel&#8217;s inner courtyard and sit outside in good weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/nuernberg-hotel-maximilian-fruehstuecksraum-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"Fr\u00fchst\u00fccksraum im Nuernberg Hotel Maximilian\" class=\"wp-image-32848\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of different products. The emphasis is on quality, sustainability and regionality, and vegetarians and vegans will also find what they are looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In any case, I found exactly what I like to eat for breakfast. And so the day could start well for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Living Hotel Maximilian &#8211; Room choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel in Nuremberg offers its guests hotel rooms and serviced flats. The flats offer furnished temporary living and are very popular with business people. You can prepare your own meals in a kitchen, have a workspace and free Wi-Fi is also offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My room was on the 4th floor of the hotel and is offered under the name &#8220;Maisonette Plus Apartment&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/nuernberg-hotel-maximilian-hohes-zimmer-683x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"100% \u00d6kostrom in den Hotels und der Hotelzentrale\" class=\"wp-image-32853\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>With 32 m\u00b2, I found the flat spacious. After the entrance area with kitchenette and bathroom with shower (hairdryer available), one came into a high, bright room with a small sofa and a dining table with seating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A staircase leads to a second level. There is a comfortable bed and the desk. The room had a balcony with seating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/nuernberg-hotel-maximilian-bett-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Living Hotel Maximilian\" class=\"wp-image-32851\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sufficient power sockets, USB hubs, a safe and, of course, a TV have also been thought of in the furnishings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I find the approach taken in this hotel concept very interesting and a good step in the right direction. Surely there are still some ideas that can be gradually realised in the running operation without limiting the comfort desired for the guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt very comfortable and could imagine
