A city weekend can be expensive, especially if you like to visit museums and use public transport a lot. Is it worth buying the LisboaCard to save some money?

We are always quite sceptical when it comes to using tourist maps. Once you have decided to buy one, you race from A to B to “work off” as much as possible because you have paid for it. The recreation factor often falls by the wayside. Often the maps are not really tailored to our needs.

"LisboaCard"

In Lisbon, we were given the opportunity to use a 72-hour card. We were able to pick up the card at the airport and use it for the first trip to the hotel. With the validation in the metro, 72 eventful hours began.

What did we do with the LisboaCard?

We made many trips by metro and bus. We travelled several times from our hotel in the direction of Belém and some of the museums we wanted to visit were located so that we could easily get there. For that alone, I think it’s worth buying the LisboaCard.

"Fahrschein

Before our visit, we had already thought about which museums and sights we would like to visit. Some of them we could visit for free, others with a discount. Once we were even able to walk past a rather long queue in the fast track line. Super relaxed and stress-free!

"LisboaCard"

In the free museums there was a vending machine where we could scan our card so we didn’t have to go to the staff on site. There was no waiting time for us and we could start our tour immediately.

We saw a lot of Lisbon in the 72 hours, but also realised that good planning makes sense. This is the only way to get the most out of it.

For us, the LisboaCard was definitely worth it on this city trip to Lisbon.

Good to know
