Within walking distance from the train station stands the beautiful Red Town Hall of Szczecin. Here in the cellar of the town hall is a pizzeria. For us, the starting point of a tour of the Szczecin breweries located nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a beautiful vault we strengthened ourselves with a wood oven pizza, which fully convinced taste, size and price. This was accompanied by the first beer, an IPA and a wheat beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The IPA tasted quite good, but was a typical IPA with no flavor surprise. The wheat tasted fruity, had quite little foam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Here the food was better than the beer! The seats were almost all reserved, we were there a good hour before the “rush” and got one of the reserved tables for a quick pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n plac Stefana Batorego 4, What a brewery! When we got there it was so crowded that we had to push our way through the people to find a place. The brewery is large and you can find a seat in several rooms. Reservations are encouraged on weekends, especially if you come with more than one person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We were given a seat in the dining room. Here, a large open kitchen dominates the room, which seats about 250 people. A look at the menu showed us that typical brewery food is served here. Lots of meat, but also pizza, pasta and salads are available. The prices are very fair and the portions more than adequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next look was of course at the beer selection. The beer is brewed directly by a Polish brewer on site according to German purity law. The brewery offers some beers as standard, in addition there are seasonal beers. We opt for a Kozak (bock beer) with 7% alcohol content and a Lager Light with 5% alcohol content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bock beer is a summer beer that tastes wonderfully soft and drinkable. It has a dark, amber color. I liked it very much, even if the malty note was quite dominant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Lager light is golden yellow and unfiltered. It has a slightly floral note and I found the taste to be somewhat tart, but not too tart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I felt very comfortable in the Nowy Browar, for me one of the most beautiful Szczecin breweries. Even though it was quite noisy and, in addition to the babble of voices, numerous TVs were showing a soccer match (including sound). A look into the other rooms, such as the brewhouse hall, showed us that there was no TV on, but the volume was similar. If you are looking for a place for a quiet evening, this is definitely the wrong place. However, if you are looking for good, great and reasonably priced food and great beer, Nowy Browar is the place to be!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Partyzant\u00f3w 2, Website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Monday – Thursday: 9-24 h The brewery Stara Komenda (Old Commandant’s Office) is located in the building of the former military commandant’s office from 1867. The entrance is not immediately recognizable as such. It goes through a normal front door into the rooms of the brewery. Only when leaving the building I saw above the door the lettering Brewery Szczecin, which refers to the place. Stara Komenda Brewery is the first restaurant-brewery in Szczecin established after 1945 and is still a family business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Directly on site, the beer is produced in a fairly small brewery. We had a seat at the counter and could see the brewing kettles very well from there. Most seats were reserved here as well and it filled up more and more during our stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The beer at Stara Komenda is fresh on tap and we opted for an Amber and a Wheat IPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have never drunk a wheat IPA before and so we were quite curious to see how far it would differ from a normal wheat beer. Color-wise, there was initially no difference, the beer shone brightly golden in the glass. Also, the alcohol content of 6.5% does not differ from a normal wheat beer. However, the Wheat IPA was relatively far from a standard wheat beer in terms of taste. The usual fruity-banana flavor was barely present, and the IPA note emerged in the aftertaste. For us, who like to drink an IPA a successful mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Amber is a dark lager that stands out for its amber hue. It smelled lightly of coffee and chocolate, which is achieved through the use of caramel and roasted malts. I found the taste to be pleasant, not too bitter and it drank away easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The brewery also offers a few other beers, which you can also take away as bottled. We liked it there and we will certainly test the other varieties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n plac Stefana Batorego 3, Website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Sunday, Monday: 13 – 22 h In the cellars of the Old Town Hall there is the Wyszak family brewery, one of the many breweries in Szczecin. In addition, you can find numerous seats on the square in front of the town hall. For us, this is actually a place that we did not want to visit, because it is teeming with tourists and it is often the case that gastronomic establishments rest on their location and the quality is not convincing. However, we had read that the Wyszak brewery brews good beer and decided to test it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n First we took a look at the guest room, which is located in the beautiful vaulted cellar of the town hall. A great atmosphere with a view of the brewing kettles. We looked for a place on the crowded terrace in summer weather and were lucky to get a free shady little table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n First, we opted for the beer that is brewed directly on site. The wheat, a top-fermented, naturally cloudy beer was wonderfully light with 4.8% alcohol. An ideal summer beer with a fruity banana flavor. On the finish, we tasted some clove and a light bready flavor. The Amber Ale is a top fermented amber ale with 5.2% alcohol. It tasted quite malty with a hint of caramel. I was quite surprised by the slightly fruity flavor that rounded out the beer wonderfully and gave it a special note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After we noticed with a look at the menu that here the prices are not tourist overpriced and a look at the neighboring tables showed that the portion sizes justified the prices, we ordered and a shank and fish&chips. The food was very good. The shank juicy and tender, the fish very good. A visit that was fitting all around and especially a great beer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n ul.
