Zinzow Castle is located here, which I visited during the Midsummer Remise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Zinzow is still found in Lubin&#8217;s map of 1618 as Zinsow. This Slavic name means something like Heubach or Wiesenbach and suggests that the settlement history of the village is much older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The estate once belonged to the von Schwerin family. In 1908, Maximilian Count von Schwerin had a manor house built in the neo-baroque style. As was customary at the time, it was situated somewhat apart from the other buildings on the estate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-weg-zum-schloss-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Weg zum Schloss Zinzow\" class=\"wp-image-26724\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u00fcrgen Werner Graf von Schwerin was the last owner of the castle in 1945. Afterwards, the municipality used the house for residential purposes. In 1997, the property passed into private ownership and was completely renovated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit to Zinzow Castle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I reach the manor house via a never-ending driveway. A two-storey plastered building with a mansard roof rises in front of me. A large staircase leads up to the entrance door. Above it is a round-arched gable with a coat of arms relief of the von Schwerin family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-wappen-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Wappen \u00fcber dem Schlosseingang\" class=\"wp-image-26725\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When you step through the entrance door, you have to climb a few more steps and you are standing in the entrance hall. Here there is a fireplace, which the family likes to light in the evening hours and in front of which they meet for an evening chat, for example. A two-flight staircase, which dates back to the time of construction, leads to the upper floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-eingangsbereich-schloss-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Eingangsbereich Schloss \" class=\"wp-image-26729\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the ground floor, for example, is the stuccoed garden hall, which offers direct access to the park. If you wish, you can rent it for events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-schlossraum-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Schloss Zinzow\" class=\"wp-image-26730\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After visiting Zinzow Castle, I enter the oldest building on the estate. The workhorse stable from the 18th century has not only been beautifully renovated on the inside, but also hides treasures. There is a private collection of historic carriages here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-kutschen-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Kutschensammlung Schloss Zinzow\" class=\"wp-image-26731\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you book in advance, you will be shown around and the beautiful pieces will be explained to you in detail. I was particularly impressed by the horse-drawn sleighs. It&#8217;s a pity that the winters are no longer so snowy. It must be so romantic to ride through the snowy landscape in a horse-drawn sleigh, wrapped up warmly in a blanket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-schlitten-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Pferdeschlitten\" class=\"wp-image-26728\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The castle is surrounded by a huge park. The 16-hectare landscape park was designed by the Swedish garden architect Anders Svensson, who planned it in the style of English landscape gardens. Here, flowerbeds or similar &#8220;artificial&#8221; ornamentation are dispensed with and the idealised landscape is placed at the centre of the design. Visual axes connect places and convey a harmonious image to the visitor. Today, you can walk along accurate lawns and discover the flora and fauna at the park pond. I particularly like the fact that there are many old trees in the park, which offer many a shady spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spend the night in the castle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several holiday flats of different sizes in the castle and two small holiday houses for rent in the extensive park. All flats are self-catering and fully furnished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-ferienhaus-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Ferienhaus\" class=\"wp-image-26727\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The gardener&#8217;s house has only recently been developed as accommodation. When I took a look at the lovingly furnished house, I immediately felt at home. The living room is large and bright. There is a fireplace for the cool season, where you can comfortably end the day. It&#8217;s a pity that someone was living there, I would have moved in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One small special feature should be mentioned. As a touring rider, it is possible to stop off at Zinzow Castle. The owners keep horses themselves and there is a place to put your horse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schnapps distillery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2006, a distillery has been located in one of the former farm buildings. As early as the middle of the 19th century, raw alcohol was produced here from potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/schloss-zinzow-produkte-brennerei-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Destille im Schloss Zinzow\" class=\"wp-image-26726\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the gleaming cauldrons of the distillery, noble brandies, spirits and liqueurs are produced from regional fruits. These can also be bought on the spot. And if you want to know how schnapps is made, all you have to do is ask the master distiller, who is happy to tell you.
