Many of the restaurants in C\u00f3rdoba profit from the day visitors who arrive in the city every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>We were looking for something special, reasonably priced and pleasant to eat at in Cordoba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mercado Victoria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mercado Victoria is a gourmet market that ideally combined all our wishes. The market is located about 5 minutes from the historic city centre in the gardens of La Victoria and many city dwellers eat there at lunchtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-markthalle-aussen-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"Restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba, Mercado Victoria\" class=\"wp-image-33578\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The building is the oldest hall of the former C\u00f3rdoba Fair and dates back to 1877. Around 1918, an extension was added to increase the usable space to 2000 square metres. The building, which has a zinc roof, was originally built for the members of a circle of friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-markthalle-rundgang-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Rundgang Restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba\" class=\"wp-image-33580\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>About 30 different stalls with a wide variety of culinary offerings can be discovered on a tour and, of course, you can eat very well everywhere. From octopus to cheese and Basque cuisine to Creole p\u00e2t\u00e9 and Mexican delicacies, everyone should find something to their taste in the market hall. In the evening, meet for a cocktail, beer or wine at the Mercado Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery alignwide has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"33581\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-markthalle-iberico-essen.jpeg\" alt=\"Restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba Iberico\" class=\"wp-image-33581\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"33582\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-markthalle-iberico-schwein.jpeg\" alt=\"Restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba\" class=\"wp-image-33582\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We visited the Mercado Victoria at a time that is not the typical eating time in Spain. So we were lucky to find no waiting times at the stalls and free seats to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first choice was a stand offering Iberian products from the Valle los Pedroches. Here we could choose from various sausage specialities from the Iberico pig. Our mixed sausage platter was wonderful. The different types of sausages were unique in taste and the wine we had bought at the neighbouring stand to go with them rounded off the taste experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cordoba-Markthalle-Pizza-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33583\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We then shared a pizza at an Italian stall. A wonderful loose dough with lots of toppings and above all lots of cheese made the early dinner an all-round fitting visit to the most varied restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Address:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Paseo de la Victoria, 3<br>14004 C\u00f3rdoba, Espa\u00f1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breakfast in the annex (caf\u00e9 area)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>8-10:30 h<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food stalls:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>12.30 &#8211; 22.30 h<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pasteleria Cordoba: La Sultana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A look into the bakeries \/ confectioneries of a city is always exciting. What sweet delicacies are there to discover? What have we not yet seen or tasted?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Near our holiday flat was one of the most traditional pastry shops in town. Here we hoped to improve our mood with something sweet on a completely rainy morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-essen-la-sultana-kuchen-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"Kuchen in C\u00f3rdoba\" class=\"wp-image-33577\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La Sultana offers handmade products made according to traditional recipes. There are also lactose-free and dietary products. Whereas, in our choice, there was certainly nothing even close to being left out. We opted for a Milhoja de Meringue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meringue is a traditional sweet from Andalusia, made from egg whites, sugar and water. The resulting sweet mass is sweet, sticky, sweet, fluffy and did I write sweet? This mass is placed between sheets of puff pastry and, as in our case, the result is an impressive cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cordoba-Kuchen.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33584\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipe to bake:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>400 g sugat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 sheet puff pastry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 egg whites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 Egg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>150 ml water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Icing sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ground cinnamon or chocolate powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a rolling pin, stretch the puff pastry well, it should be as thin as possible. Prick the pastry with a fork and cut into rectangles of equal size. Then place the pastry in the oven and bake at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes until golden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the sweet meringue, put 300g of sugar and 150ml of water in a saucepan and heat it very slowly. A kind of syrup forms, which is only ready when it starts to bubble. Don&#8217;t forget to stir well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beat the egg whites until firm. Then slowly add the remaining 100 g sugar and slowly fold into the egg mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the next step, mix the egg-sugar mixture and the sugar-water syrup together. To do this, gradually fold the still warm syrup into the egg mixture. The meringue is only ready when you can turn the bowl upside down and nothing falls out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now spread the puff pastry bases with the mixture. You can use another puff pastry base as a &#8220;lid&#8221; or sprinkle some icing sugar, cinnamon or chocolate powder on the meringue mixture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was thrilled by this cake (despite a slight sugar shock). But the other baked goods in the display also looked simply delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Address:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>C. Cronista Salcedo Hierro, 6,<br>14001 C\u00f3rdoba, Spanien<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drinking beer in C\u00f3rdoba<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you go to a restaurant in C\u00f3rdoba and want to drink a beer, you will often be offered a Cruzcampo. This beer is produced in a Spanish brewery in Seville, which has belonged to the Heinecken Brewery Group since 2000. The brewery was founded in 1904 under the name La Cruz del Campo, and since 1929 the beer has been sold under the name Cruzcampo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-bier-cruzcampo-1024x714.jpeg\" alt=\"Cruzcampo Bier aus Spanien\" class=\"wp-image-33576\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Although there are several Cruzcampo beer varieties, you can actually get the 4.8% Cruzcampo everywhere, a golden yellow Pils with a rather standard taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cervezas Califa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Califa is a beer that is brewed directly in C\u00f3rdoba. The brewery has existed since 2013 and has meanwhile brought several types of beer onto the market. We bought three varieties in a supermarket and tested them in our holiday flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Califa Morena<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The beer is an amber ale brewed from roasted malt with a mild taste of roasted biscuit, caramel and liquorice. In the glass you can see the light amber colour and the light ivory foam. The craft beer has an alcohol content of 5.2%. In terms of taste, it is a middle ground between very soft and tart, it drinks away well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/cordoba-bier-califa-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"Bier Califa aus C\u00f3doba\" class=\"wp-image-33575\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Califa Rubia<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Blonde Ale has an alcohol content of 4.8% and smells quite malty. Pilsner and Vienna malts were used in the brewing process, which give the beer this smell. The Rubia tastes slightly bitter with some citrus flavour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the glass, the beer is pale gold and clear. For me, the beer tasted too much like a Pilsner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Califa IPA<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Califa IPA is brewed in the style of an American IPA. It has a dark golden colour and shimmers a little orange in the glass. The foam of the beer stays relatively well in the glass for a long time. On the nose, the combination of tropical aromas and citrus fruits stands out, reminiscent of very ripe mango, pineapple and passion fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I liked this type of beer best. It was pleasantly malty with a slightly fruity note and hoppy and pleasantly bitter in the finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beer has an alcohol content of 6.3%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Cordoba, especially in the city centre, there are countless possibilities to eat and drink something.
