It is only 9 o&#8217;clock and actually we had hoped to be able to go with the ship to Warnem\u00fcnde\u2026 but we are too early, much too early. So, what now? Wait? Postpone the trip? Or\u2026?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>We decide for &#8220;or&#8221;! On to the train station and with the S-Bahn off in the direction of Warnem\u00fcnde. We will then use the ship for the return trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-abfahrtsort-schiff-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Im Hafen von Warnem\u00fcnde\" class=\"wp-image-38134\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to have the departure times correctly in mind this time, the first way leads us to the port in Warnem\u00fcnde. The passenger ship to Rostock departs in the immediate vicinity of the cruise pier, where an AIDA was moored. Departure time noted and on it went to discover Warnem\u00fcnde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a few hours, with a lot of relaxation on the beach, we were back in the harbor just in time for departure. Now our boat trip from Warnem\u00fcnde to Rostock could start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-abgelegt-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Abfahrt in Warnem\u00fcnde, Schifffahrt Warnem\u00fcnde nach Rostock\" class=\"wp-image-38135\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome aboard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Strandline&#8221; is a daily connection on the route Rostock &#8211; Warnem\u00fcnde &#8211; Rostock. The Rostock shipping company Sch\u00fctt operates this route with several ships. Depending on the season, there are fixed departure times, which can also be extended sometimes in case of large crowds. Tickets can be bought on board!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-hafenverkehr-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Schiffverkehr auf der Warnow, Schifffahrt Warnem\u00fcnde nach Rostock\" class=\"wp-image-38142\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The travel time with the excursion ships on the route Warnem\u00fcnde to Rostock is 1 hour. Of course there is a possibility to sit below deck as well as outside. Who likes can be catered for by the onboard bistro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trip begins<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after we had chosen our place on the upper deck, it was time to cast off and the &#8220;ship trip Warnem\u00fcnde to Rostock&#8221; started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-aida-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"AIDA im Hafen von Warnem\u00fcnde\" class=\"wp-image-38136\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It went past the AIDA, which seemed huge from our perspective. Driving right next to the cruise ship, I was only really aware of how big such a cruise ship is. What a change of perspective makes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directly behind the AIDA we could see the Cruise Center, which was opened in 2005. Now the acoustic accompaniment of the cruise began. At the most important places we got information over the loudspeakers and, since daily changing ships lie in the port of Warnow, of course also the appropriate information to the ships lying at anchor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-werft-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Werftanlagen\" class=\"wp-image-38140\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The excursion ship also passes the shipyard facilities, loading and unloading stations. It&#8217;s quite exciting to see ships being worked on.<br>I liked this entire first section of the trip. There was quite a lot of traffic on the Warnow and in every direction there was something to discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-museumsschiff-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Museumsschiff in Rostock\" class=\"wp-image-38141\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After a while it became a little quieter on the shore and we came to the area of the IGA Park. Here the traditional ship Dresden is anchored as a <a href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/germany\/mecklenburg-western-pomerania\/rostock-warnemuende\/museum-ship-dresden-in-rostock\/\">museum ship<\/a>. We had visited the impressive ship a day earlier. From the water side I think it looks more impressive than from the land. The visit to the ship was unique and I can only recommend to visit the exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The journey continues to Rostock\u2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-hinweis-warnow-tunnel-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Hinweisschild Warnow Tunnel, Schifffahrt Warnem\u00fcnde nach Rostock\" class=\"wp-image-38139\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after, we passed a sign floating in the middle of the Warnow. It marks the Warnow tunnel running under the river. For many drivers, the tunnel is the shortest connection to the north of Rostock. I think we need to take a look at the tunnel and its history. I find it exciting to learn how this was built. I wonder if you can feel underwater when a huge ship passes over you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a view to the fishing port, we were reminded of our visit there. Sitting in the fish restaurant, we had enjoyed the view of the river and watched the ships go by. The fish was already good there, we will certainly eat there again on our next visit to Rostock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vonortzuort.reisen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/rostock-warnemuende-fischereihafen-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Rostocker Fischereihafen\" class=\"wp-image-38138\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Slowly, our journey was coming to an end. Rostock came closer and closer, the churches and houses took more and more contours. Our entry into the city harbor began and now we could see from the excursion ship the places that we could already discover from land during a stroll through the city harbor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the ship docked.
