Ancient fortress in the capital Kerkira<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/04\/Korfu-Top-1.jpg\" alt=\"Top 3 destinations on Corfu\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\nA visit to the <a title=\"Travelling to the capital of Corfu \u2013 Kerkyra\" href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/greece\/corfu\/capital-of-corfu\/\">Old Fortress<\/a> is a must if you visit the capital of Corfu. The entrance fee is low and you can spend quite some time here. A small tip: dare to leave the main road. The fortress has some hidden corners that stir imagination like only old fortresses can.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Achilleion &#8211; Sisis holiday castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\nWe went to this small castle when it was pouring down. The <a title=\"Sisis holiday paradise \u2013 the Achilleion\" href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/greece\/corfu\/achilleion\/\">Achilleion<\/a> is located on a small mountain and from here you have a nice view over the island.\nIt was certainly a bit busier in the museum because of the rain, but we could still get an impression of Sisi&#8217;s little paradise.\nAs a Sisi fan, the path through the garden was a &#8220;must do&#8221; despite therain. It dawned on me very quickly why the Empress of Austria felt so comfortable here.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/04\/Korfu-Top-2.jpg\" alt=\"Achilleion Top 3 destinations on Corfu\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. New Fortress in Kerkira<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/04\/Aussichtsplattform.jpg\" alt=\"Top 3 destinations on Corfu\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe <a title=\"Travelling to the capital of Corfu \u2013 Kerkyra\" href=\"https:\/\/fromplacetoplace.travel\/greece\/corfu\/capital-of-corfu\/\">New Fortress<\/a> in Kerkira is slightly elevated and offers a spectacular view over the city.\nWe were not asked for an entrance fee on our visit but this changes during peak seasons where a small fee has to be paid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to introduce our top 3 destinations on Corfu.
