Holiday in Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg, Germany’s sunny south, is a state full of diversity that has something to offer every type of traveler. Vacations in Baden-Württemberg are varied and relaxing.

Baden-Württemberg is a federal state located in the southwest of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the third largest federal state in terms of area and the state capital is Stuttgart. The travel destinations in Baden-Württemberg are diverse and varied, attracting more visitors from all over the world to Baden-Württemberg every year to discover the beauty of its landscapes and cultural diversity.

The state capital Stuttgart attracts visitors with world-class museums such as the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Porsche Museum, which not only delight car enthusiasts. The charming old town of Heidelberg, with its famous castle ruins and the oldest university in Germany, is a romantic highlight. For history buffs, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Maulbronn Abbey, one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in Europe, is also a must-see. The region is also characterized by charming half-timbered towns such as Esslingen am Neckar and Tübingen, which enchant with their cobblestone streets and picturesque old towns.

Baden-Württemberg

In addition to several conurbations, Baden-Württemberg is also home to beautiful natural areas. The Black Forest, one of Germany’s best-known travel destinations, offers dense forests, picturesque valleys and idyllic lakes. Whether you hike the famous Westweg trail, visit the mystical Mummelsee lake or stroll through charming villages such as Triberg with its waterfalls – the nature of the Black Forest is simply fascinating. Lake Constance with its Mediterranean atmosphere and impressive panoramas also invites you to relax. The flower island of Mainau or the historic city of Constance are absolute highlights. Not forgetting the Swabian Alb, where bizarre rock formations, caves and castles create an impressive landscape that magically attracts hikers and adventurers.

The region is not only famous for its wines, but also for its outstanding cuisine. The Württemberg Wine Route and the Baden Wine Route lead through beautiful vineyards where you can taste outstanding white and red wines. The regional cuisine will spoil you with specialties such as Maultaschen, Spätzle, onion tart and, of course, the famous Black Forest ham and Black Forest gateau.
