Holiday in the Nuremberg region

Getting There

Arrival

By plane
Nuremberg Airport is located in the immediate vicinity of the Nuremberg region. From there it is easy to get to the region by car, but also by public transport.

By car
The region of Nuremberg region is very well connected to the motorway network of the Federal Republic of Germany. The A 3, A 6, A 9 and A 73 lead to and into the district. In addition, the federal roads B 8 and B 14 run in a west-easterly direction.

By train
The nearest major railway station with an ICE stop is in Nuremberg.
Three S-Bahn lines run from Nuremberg into the district. In addition, regional trains run through the region and stop at many towns and villages. There are supra-regional connections to Cheb (Czech Republic) from some stations.

By public transport
The Nuremberg public transport system offers numerous connections to the Nuremberg region. Buses, regional trains and suburban trains travel to almost all sights.
In addition, special excursion lines run to popular regions.

By bike
There are well-signposted cycle routes through the region. Some of them follow specific themes, such as the Industrial History Cycle Route or the Ore Route.

By boat
Large sections of the Pegnitz can be navigated by canoe.

On foot
Numerous well-signposted hiking trails lead through the Nuremberg region, such as the “Golden Road” , which runs from Nuremberg through to Prague.
