On the way to Bernau we passed through the district of Börnicke. Here, right next to the Börnicke Castle manor house, is the brewery of the Bernauer Brauereigenossenschaft, which brews the excellent Bernauer beer.

About halfway between the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz is the “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe” or “Holocaust Memorial”. It’s a place you have to see and an exhibition that took me away emotionally.

From Red Franconia and Blue Cologne at the Museum Vineyard in Klingenberg
In Klingenberg, on the steep slopes high above the Main River, lie the vineyards of several Churfranken vintners. The museum vineyard in Klingenberg, which is cultivated by winemaker Anja Stritzinger, can also be found there.

Autumn holiday on Wangerooge
“In autumn to one of the East Frisian Islands? Why not! Autumn by the sea can be beautiful, you just need the right clothes and you can have a wonderful time by the sea.” – That, or something like it, is what I thought when I received the offer to go to Wangerooge in October.
