We were on the road for three days in the Saale-Unstrut region. Our place to stay during this time was in Merseburg at the Hotel Best Western Halle-Merseburg. A good choice!
The hotel is located in the heart of Merseburg. From here, the most important sights are within easy walking distance and so we could easily park our car in the hotel’s underground car park and set off to explore the city.
A little tip on the side: the cycle route along the Saale runs not far from the hotel. The hotel has enough space for your own bike and also offers rental bikes with which you can explore the area.
Rooms in the Hotel Best Western Halle-Merseburg
We were greeted very friendly at the hotel reception for check-in. We quickly clarified the formalities and the lift took us to the fourth floor.
I opened the door and immediately felt at home! A large and bright room awaited us, with everything you need to enjoy your stay.
A look into the spacious bathroom – there is a bathtub!!!! For me, a hotel has always had a huge plus on the list if I find a bathtub. At home, I have to do without a bathtub. So whenever I stay in a hotel, it’s a pleasure to end the evening with a bath. I can do without any TV (the one in our room was still turned on to watch football) and enjoy the evening.
The room at the Hotel Best Western Halle-Merseburg had everything we needed for a successful stay. Safe, Wi-Fi (free of charge), a comfortable bed and peace and quiet. We had a wonderful time!
Food & Drink
On our first evening, we were allowed to eat at the hotel. The AZado steak restaurant in the hotel offers burgers, steaks and one or two other delicacies. We chose burgers and were not disappointed. The bun was crispy and the burger meat very tasty. I had a burger with duck meat, which tasted really great. With a cool Pilsner, we were able to end the day in comfort.
Morning – 6:30h in Merseburg… Still a little tired, we arrive for breakfast after our first exhausting day. The large and bright breakfast room and a great breakfast buffet await us. But even before we can sit down, a good-humoured hotel employee beams at us and wishes us a “Good morning! Would you like some coffee to wake you up?” He had guessed it, the coffee was urgently needed!
After the first cup of morning coffee, we actually went to the rich breakfast buffet. Fruit, muesli, yoghurt, bread rolls, sausage and cheese landed on our plates and bowls.
The day could begin – we were fine!
Swimming pool and sauna
To my great delight, the Best Western Halle-Merseburg Hotel also has a small swimming pool and a sauna. You can find out the opening hours at the hotel reception.
Of course I had to try out the swimming pool and swam a few laps. The water temperature was very pleasant and even using the massage jets for a little longer didn’t make me shiver yet.
The sauna was well frequented that evening. It was a bit too crowded for me and I refrained from visiting.
