In the Brandenburg district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin lies the state-recognized resort of Rheinsberg. Here at the Rhin, a tributary of the Havel, you can enjoy your vacation in Rheinsberg.
The magnificent Rheinsberg Castle is the town’s landmark and an absolute highlight. Located directly on Lake Grienericksee, the palace impresses with its baroque architecture and extensive palace gardens. It was once the residence of Crown Prince Frederick (later Frederick the Great) and is considered a source of inspiration for his later time in Sanssouci. Today, the palace houses a museum and is a popular venue for cultural events such as concerts and readings.
Rheinsberg is a cultural center of the region. In addition to the palace, the town offers a wide range of cultural events, including concerts, theater performances and readings. The annual chamber opera festival, which attracts music lovers from all over Germany, is particularly well-known. The town’s ceramics tradition is also a cultural highlight: Rheinsberg is home to two ceramics factories whose products are renowned throughout Europe.

Rheinsberg is often described as a “romantic picture book”. The charming old town with its small alleyways, cafés and restaurants is perfect for a stroll. Couples in particular appreciate the romantic atmosphere of the town, which is enhanced by its lakeside location and historical backdrop.
Rheinsberg’s surroundings are characterized by a unique lake landscape and dense forests that are perfect for outdoor activities. Whether hiking, cycling or boat tours – the region offers numerous opportunities to enjoy nature. Excursions on the Grienericksee lake or to the nearby Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park are particularly popular.
