Heavenly night in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hannover Schweizerhof

On the occasion of a blogger gathering, I got to spend one night in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hannover Schweizerhof and I would love to take the opportunity to bring this hotel to your attention.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hannover Schweizerhof is in close proximity to the central station of Hannover; less than 5 minutes on foot. Walking from the hotel to the Old Town doesn’t take much longer either, it’s an 8-minute walk to the middle of the pedestrianised centre of Hannover. I already liked the hotel a lot for the short distances between it and these locations.

Arrival in the Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Hannover Schweizerhof

I was greeted warmly at the front desk and my room on the 4th floor was ready for me to move in.

The hotel has 201 rooms on 6 floors. Originally, the building was supposed to be a studio apartment block and it shows. My double room was huge, bright and friendly. A look into the wardrobes proved that the hotel knows well how to make business travellers happy: A spacious safe for laptops (this is of great importance to us on our trips). A short test of the bed made me excited for the night and the comfy armchair was ideal for a short break.

Then the bathroom … with a bathtub! A sight for sore eyes when all you have at home is a shower! Looking back at the night in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Hannover – Schweizerhof I can say that I slept splendidly, enjoyed the bathtub and felt really comfortable in my room.

Restaurant: Bistro Schweizerhof

I was invited to a gathering for bloggers in the Restaurant of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Hannover – Schweizerhof which made for an interesting evening; culinary and otherwise.

We got the chance to check out the talent of the kitchen staff. Our food was truly delightful. During our little kitchen party, we got to enjoy smoked tofu with goat’s cheese ravioli as a starter, pigling blade steak and aubergine lasagne as a main and for the grand finale pear in red wine, cherries with dark chocolate and gooseberry tartar for dessert.

The food satisfied me, it was delicious. I can understand why the people of Hannover also like to come to the hotel to eat in the fabulous Bistro Schweizerhof.

The breakfast was also served in the Bistro Schweizerhof. I was still a little full from the dinner the night before, but the solid selection of muesli and bread rolls won me over.

A great variety of cold meat, cheese and fish, yoghurt and fresh fruit. No breakfast needs were unmet. Orders for freshly made omelettes and eggs were taken. Coffee, tea and juices rounded the offer and made for an excellent start to the day. I liked the Hotel Crowne Plaza Hannover Schweizerhof and the Bistro Schweizerhof a lot. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to try the spa, but I am certain that I will come back in the future. A huge thank you to everyone who made this visit possible!
