Occitania is located in the south of France and is one of the French administrative regions. A holiday in Occitania attracts countless tourists every year.
The Occitanie region is divided into several smaller departments: Ariège, Aude, Aveyron, Gard, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Hérault, Lot, Lozère, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne. In terms of area, it extends from Aubrac to the Pyrenees on a north-south axis and from the Camargue in the Gard to Gascony on an east-west axis. The largest cities are Montpellier and Toulouse.
A holiday in Occitania combines many holiday worlds: holidays on the Mediterranean coast, holidays in the Pyrenees, city breaks and of course small villages and beautiful landscapes.
Holidays in Occitania – what to discover
Do you know Toulouse? We were a little unprepared when we arrived but explored some really lovely places on our discovery tour through the city. I’d like to introduce our two favourite ones.
Coming to Toulouse automatically means being around Airbuses. You already get to see the first Airbus machines that are waiting to be delivered when you arrive at the airport.
The train takes a little over an hour from Toulouse to Carcassonne. We are huge fans of the board game of the same name and so we simply had to go. We set off on our excursion on a Saturday morning.
