The nearest airport is about 43 kilometers away in Salzburg.
The nearest train station is in Salzburg or in Bad Ischl.
There are several motorways leading to the surrounding area. Locally, well-maintained roads connect the towns around the lake.
We took the Postbus from Salzburg to Lake Wolfgang.
There are regular boats across the lake that connect the towns.
Best time to travel
The best time to travel to the Lake Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut is from May to September.
Temperatures are then mild and there is little to moderate rainfall.
The highest average temperature in Sankt Wolfgang is 22°C in August and the lowest temperature is 0°C in January.
