The Wolfgangsee region, nestled in the breathtaking beauty of the Austrian Alps, is a true dream for travellers and nature enthusiasts. Another popular place is Strobl, an idyllic village on the eastern shore of Lake Wolfgang. Excursion tips at Lake Wolfgang
During our holiday at the Lake Wolfgang we stayed in a small b&b directly on the route of the „Schafbergbahn“. Of course, we had to take the cogwheel railway.
Past a small waterfall, the path led us higher up towards Falkenstein, to a church, the Falkensteinkapelle.

Best time to travel
The best time to travel to the Lake Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut is from May to September.
Temperatures are then mild and there is little to moderate rainfall.
The highest average temperature in Sankt Wolfgang is 22°C in August and the lowest temperature is 0°C in January.
