The federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate is located in the southwest of Germany with the state capital Mainz. The state is one of the most diverse and beautiful regions in Germany and offers something special for every type of vacation. Rhineland-Palatinate is known for its picturesque landscapes, which are characterized by vineyards, rivers and forests. The German Wine Route in the Palatinate is a particular highlight: here, travelers can expect an almost Mediterranean flair with almond trees, figs, lemons and oleander bushes. During the grape harvest, the region is transformed into a sea of aromas and colors. The river landscapes of the Rhine and Moselle also invite you to take relaxing walks or boat trips

The region is a paradise for wine lovers. Rhineland-Palatinate is the largest wine-growing region in Germany and offers numerous opportunities to taste the regional wines in the wine-growing villages. The Palatinate and the Moselle region in particular are known for their wine culture.

Impressive castles and palaces can be discovered throughout the region. Eltz Castle, one of the most famous castles in Germany, is an absolute must for history and architecture lovers. The Imperial Castle of Cochem on the Moselle and the numerous castles along the Rhine are also fascinating excursion destinations. Cities such as Mainz and Koblenz are perfect for city breaks. Mainz is particularly famous for its old town and cathedral, while Koblenz impresses with the Deutsches Eck and Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
