Overnight stay in sea container in Schöneck
A really unusual overnight stay can be found in Schöneck in the Vogtland. Spending the night in a Tinyhouse is already something special, but spending the night in a sea container was a wonderful time-out for us and a unique experience.

Visit to the Döberitzer Heide – Sielmann Natural Landscape Döberitzer Heide
In Brandenburg, quite close to Berlin, lies the Döberitzer Heide. The entire area is about 5000 hectares. On about 3600 hectares, the former military training area Döberitz, is now a nature reserve. Most of the heathland lies in the Havelland district between Dallgow-Döberitz, Seeburg, Elstal and Priort. The southern area belongs to Potsdam.

You can get a very good first overview of the city on a city tour of Magdeburg. It’s not a tour where you can hop on or off at will, but a leisurely drive through the city.

In the Barnim district of Brandenburg lies the small town of Schönwalde, very close to Wandlitz. Dammsmühle Castle is located here in the nature reserve of the Mühlenbeck Lakes.

A stroll through Eichwalde
Eichwalde is located in the Brandenburg district of Dahme-Spreewald directly on the border with Berlin-Köpenick and is the smallest municipality in Brandenburg with an area of only 2.8 km² . After our visit to neighbouring Schmöckwitz, we ended the weekend with a walk through Eichwalde.

The Niederfinow ship’s hoist is an impressive structure in Brandenburg. It is located at the end of the Oder-Havel Canal and overcomes a height difference of 36 metres. The industrial monument was put into operation in 1934, making it the oldest ship’s hoist still in operation in Germany.

Valhalla – a hall of honour high above the Danube
The term Valhalla comes from Norse mythology and describes the resting place for fallen warriors. The German memorial site Valhalla near Regensburg is named after the mythical resting place and I think the place really is a bit mythical-monumental.

Bürgstadt is a small town near Miltenberg in the Churfranken region of pleasure. On my first day in the region, I set out to discover the town.

Soviet Memorial in Treptow Park
I love to discover Berlin. Unfortunately, one often takes far too little time for his hometown and in addition Berlin is not exactly small. Since you are often with the public transport, especially from my home district Spandau, quickly times an hour on the road until you reach the desired destination. The Treptower Park is not one of the destinations that are around the corner for me.

Four rivers meet in Regensburg: Naab, Regen, Danube and, although not a “real” river, the Main-Donal Canal. We took a look around Regensburg on the banks of the Danube and also took a boat trip on the famous Danube “Strudel”.
